Meet the Stars of Ek Paal

SYNOPSIS

Anjali Sharma is a bubbly little girl who loves life and being the one to stand out the most. She has a younger sister, Naina, or so she thinks. Her father, Om Sharma, is a well-respected man, as he is the Prime Minister of India. He loves his country deeply and wishes all the best for it, but one day all of his dreams turn into nightmares and his beloved India is under havoc. 

Anjali's mother Sayeeda is a peaceful woman who stays at home and cares for her kids. She is also a part-time baker. She would make special pastries and cakes for her shop and have her employees come to her home and pick them up. Ever since she was a child, she dreamed about running her own little bakery and making delicious pastries for the town to enjoy. 

Everything seemed to be going fine until; Anjali's father takes up drinking and abuses his wife badly. He also has an affair with another woman, whom he later marries after his wife walks out on him. Ishika, his new wife, is someone whom both Om and Sayeeda both know, but fail to recognize. She is there to wreak destruction on this family, for things done to her and a companion in the past. Therefore, she puts her devilish "plan" into action. Months later, with the help of Kavita, Sayeeda’s younger sister, the plan is successful. However, Naina is taken away with Kavita and Anjali goes to live with her best friend Sunaina, after running away from an orphanage. 

Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra, Sunaina’s parents, take her in and change residency to avoid any conflict that may arise. They love Anjali as much as they love their own child and raise her to be a confident young woman. Unfortunately, another tragedy strikes when Anjali and Sunaina enter their first year of college. They receive a devastating phone call announcing the death of Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra. 

Within this same time frame, Anjali finds love, but what she doesn't know is that the man she thinks she loves is a completely different person and may end up scarring her for life. This story then takes a new toll; both Sunaina and Anjali find the world’s greatest gift of saacha pyaar (true love). The lover’s that enter their lives are two heroic men that vow to protect them and guide them through out life’s many obstacles. However, Anjali’s past just may threaten her future with her newfound love.

With the help of her step brothers, Aman and Rohit, along with Sunaina and Rahul, Anjali is taken to new heights. In the chapters of her life, she finds out the truth and the lead to a family she never had. While trying to accomplish these goals, she unlocks many secrets and lies told to her over the years. She also discovers the truth behind her step sister and the things she had planned to ruin her love story with Rahul. Most importantly, she learns the true meaning of life...Ek Paal...One moment can change everything...

The day she agonized ever since she was a young woman had finally come. It was her wedding day. For most, a wedding is a joyous occasion to celebrate the joining of two lovers. But for Kaminee it was a decision that was going to ruin her life. In the Hindu religion, all marriages were arranged. There was no such thing as a love marriage, but instead your parents decided who you were going to marry. Sometimes even before you were born.

The groom they picked for her was a wealthy man, with a high social status. He was a huge business tycoon, but his personality was horrible. He was a heavy drinker, a smoker, and he had another woman on the side by the name of Shalena. He even told his new bride to be that he wouldn't give up his mistress, even if they were married. Kaminee tried to warn her parents about the man they had chosen for her, but they believed she was only trying to get out of the marriage.

Kaminee had no choice. She was going to have to marry the man her parents chose for her, despite what he was truly like. That even meant she had to give up the one person in her life who meant the world to her. He was the one who she truly wanted to marry. Her mystery lover went by the name of Dev and they had been together for five years, but her parents never knew. If they found out, they would've killed her! So she had to sacrafice what she had and do what made her parents happy.

Finally the wedding day had come. As she sat in her room, staring down at her henna adored hands, there came a knock at her balcony window.......

Amarah, a magazine reporter for "Wedding Times" was chosen to cover the wedding of the year of Mr. Dev Kistamma. Kistamma is one of New York's wealthiest Indian men and his wedding was going to be a grand affair. Amarah was assigned to go stay at the house of the bride to be and get some insight for the wedding affair. To her surprise, the bride to be cousin was one of her best friends back in college. The two had lost contact when they both moved to America and decided to go there separate ways. It was great that the two now reconnected.

Amarah hadn't met the bride to be yet and when she finally she did, she was left in shock. The girl was none other than, Amanda. Amanda was one of her best friends ever since her childhood, but for some odd reason, the two had a major fall out. Over what? No one really knows. It was just said that Amarah betrayed Amanda in the greatest way possible, but no one knows how. Not even Amarah. She didn't try to fight it and just let Amanda go her way.

It was a horrible time for Amarah because at the same time the man who she was going to marry had walked out of her life. He falsely accused her of cheating on him and he even showed her proof of the affair she was having with another man. The proof was not accurate though because, the pictures he saw had been altered by someone, just to make her look guilty. Dev wouldn't tell her where he got the pictures from, but said that is from a reliable source and that the person knew her well. Dev, moved away from there village back home in India and became a successful business tycoon in New York. Amarah had no intentions of going to the big apple, but her new job moved her there. Ever since she had lived there, she had never once run into her ex lover, but she saw him enough on television and in the newspaper.

When Amanda saw her she nearly dropped dead. It was Amanda who was the cause of her and Dev breaking up. Amanda was very jealous of Dev and Amarah's love story and secretly liked Dev from a long time. But Dev had no interest in her. That is until Amanda brain washed Dev into believing the fake pictures she had created. Dev was hurt to the point of no return and Amanda used this time to take advantage of his broken heart. She was basically the one who mopped up his tears(the ones she caused) and he ended up falling for her lies. Now years later he was going to marry her. As for Amarah she couldn't believe that her old childhood friend was now about to marry the one person she was never able to forget.

Dev was now in for a surprise. His one true love was now back in town and the lies and deceit were soon going to be revealed.......TO BE CONTINUED......
